Ferrochromium is an alloy of iron and chromium (about 60%), used for alloying steel and alloys. This alloy is used when it is required to increase the tensile strength and yield strength of steels. At the same time, chromium increases hardness and wear resistance in carbon steels, and low-carbon steels (with a chromium content of more than 12%) acquire stainless properties.
По содержанию углерода, феррохром подразделяется на 4 группы:

high-carbon - containing carbon from 4.0 to 9.0%;

medium carbon - containing carbon from 0.5 to 4.0%;

low-carbon containing carbon from 0.5 max%;

low-carbon nitrided with nitrogen content from 1.0 to 6.0%.

Delivery of ferrochromium is made in pieces up to 315 mm in size, weighing no more than 20 kg, or according to size classes. It is allowed to produce high-carbon ferrochrome in ingots weighing no more than 30 kg.
Феррохром поставляют в неупакованном виде. Тем не менее, при согласовании с потребителем упаковка феррохрома любой марки и класса крупности возможна. В случае же транспортировки нескольких партий феррохрома в неупакованном виде одним транспортным средством, для исключения возможности перемешивания предусматривается разделение партий перегородками.
